# Transparent Governance

To increase transparency and participation, Open Source Dharma lineages may make their governance practices and agreements **transparent to the public**. This includes sharing as much information as possible on one’s operating agreement, as well as on the roles, accountabilities, policies, and governance structure of the organization.

If an Open Source Dharma lineage doesn’t operate as a formal organization, but rather as a loose confederation of people, then the process by which your group makes decisions must documented and shared to meet this open governance requirement.
