# 1st Rank

![](/files/-L_ZMOte2C4_aBTvABUl)

In the **1st Rank of Open Source Dharma** a dharma-related project will have [opened up some of their teaching contents](/master/standards/open-content.md), releasing them under an **open license** as **free cultural works**.

In addition they will have a publicly posted, [transparent account of how they approach ethics &/or morality](/master/standards/transparent-ethics.md) in their project. That would include a **statement of ethics**, **clearly described** **ethical protocols**, and **an open channel** to report ethical breakdowns.
