# Transparent Ethics

Open Source Dharma is an **ethics-first standard**, meaning that any project claiming to be compatible with the open source dharma standard, must display **a public statement of ethics**, have clearly displayed **ethical protocols**, and an **open channel to report ethical breakdowns**.
